Members from various Unions and their Locals across Peel Region gathered at the Injured Workers Monument in Brampton for the Day of Mourning on Friday, April 28, 2017. Unions and members of the public joined together to pay tribute and remember those who were killed or injured in the workplace.

President of the Peel Regional Labour Council, Jim McDowell, along with the Mayor of Brampton, Linda Jeffrey, Mayor of Mississauga, Bonnie Crombie and Mayor of Caledon, Alan Thompson all offered words of condolences and messages of unity. Members representing their Locals had the chance to lay their wreaths at the foot of the monument and held a moment of silence for their fellow injured and fallen workers.
